Tom was born in Texarkana, Arkansas, on March 1, 1936, to parents Mozelle Cregg and Felton Moore. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1959 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and immediately began a 35-year career in the petrochemical industry. Tom started his career with Jefferson Chemical Company in Port Neches and retired as Senior Project Engineer from Texaco Chemical Company, Austin in 1994.
Tom will be remembered by many as “Coach Moore” from Northwest Little League in the 1960-70’s. He was always proud of his association with those children and their families. Tom also loved to boat on Lake Travis and spent many weekend afternoons on the water. After retirement, Tom and Anita moved to Liberty Hill where his greatest joy was time spent with family, friends and his beloved Golden Retrievers, Hopi and Sissy.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Anita Nesthouse Moore and his loving children: son Bradley Moore (Evelyn) with granddaughters Courtney and Ashley and stepsons Jason Borden and Brandon Borden (Jennifer) with grandchildren Brynn and Brant.
The family expresses deep gratitude to the staff of Austin North Assisted Living, Odyssey Hospice and special friend, Evelyn Page, for support and assistance provided to the family in caring for Tom during his long illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2012, at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX.
