Tim Roche

Native Austinite James Timothy “Tim” Roche died suddenly on Sunday, June 20, 2021, just after meeting his first great grandson. Tim was born in Austin on December 27, 1937, to David T. Roche and Eileen McNamara and attended McCallum High School, The New Mexico Military Institute and UT Austin. He married Sandra, his beloved wife of 64 years, in October of 1957 and together they raised a daughter and son. Over the years, Tim enjoyed the challenges of business ownership and the thrills of the oil business. He was an avid golfer, loved sharing fishing trips with Jim Huckaby and his grandkids, hunting and poker with brother Mike and the boys, and was an enthusiastic UT sports fan but his greatest passion was his family. He was heavily involved in the athletic pursuits of both his children and his grandchildren. One of Tim’s greatest honors was to have been instrumental in finding and securing the current location for Austin Christian Fellowship and the deep friendships he made there. A man who lived life to the fullest, he is remembered for his great love of his large and extended family and his many friends.

Tim is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Roche, brother Michael P. Roche (Gayle), daughter Kimberly Roche Green (Tim), grandchildren Savannah Green (Eddie), Tim Green, Corbin Green (Ashley), and Glory Green, mother-in-law Carol Pinckard, sister-in-law Judy Pinckard, brother-in-law Jack Pinckard, great grandchildren Elizabeth, Lily, Rory and Parker, Nephews David Roche (Becky), Jim Roche (Melony), Michael Roche, niece Julia Walker (Jay) and constant canine companion Katie. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Jack, and his son Tim Jr.

Pastor Will Davis will officiate services on Thursday, June 24, 2021, 2:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 3125 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, Texas 78705, 512-452-8811. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
