Gary Tim Aynesworth passed away in Austin on January 19, 2024 at age 77. Known as Tim, he was born to Mary Elizabeth (Sipes) and Vaughan Vincent Aynesworth on December 28, 1946 in Austin. He was married to Donna (Smith) Aynesworth for the past 49 years. Preceding him in death was his sister, Sharon Celeste Justice.
Tim is survived by his wife, Donna, and their daughters, Emily and Marian. Other survivors include his nephews, Tye Justice and Chance Justice; brothers-in-law, Todd Smith, Scott Smith and James Justice; and cousin, Robert “Bob” Moore.
As a 5th generation Austinite, he knew this area very well and would treat his family to scenic drives while sharing stories of their heritage. He enjoyed the Boy Scouts and was a member of Order of the Arrow. Tim was a fine artist and at 8 years old he was invited to attend college art classes at UT. He went to Austin High and graduated from the University of Texas School Of Architecture. He practiced architecture in Houston and Austin. His design and thoughtful addition to the Westbank Community Library continue to bring joy to the community. He was in the Navy Reserves for 6 years.
He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, Alpha Nu chapter, where he formed lifelong friendships and was inducted into the Order of Constantine.
Tim was a great, knowledgeable man, with innumerable talents and hobbies. He is loved and admired and truly remains the heart of his family. He lived a deeply meaningful life.
The service will be on Friday, February 9th, 2024 at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd at 11:00 AM, 3201 Windsor Road, Austin, Texas. Memorial donations may be considered to Pioneer Farms of Austin.
