Thomas M. Tinnell, Sr., 60, of Austin died September 3, 2009 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 28, 1949 to Joseph and Mary Jean Tinnell. Thomas was a customer relations specialist with Sitel/Mimacs for many years. He was an avid photographer, sports enthusiast, Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan, and an officiate of amateur sports events. Thomas met Jean Meier in June of 1968 and they were married June 20, 1969 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Chilton, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jean Tinnell; sons, Tommy Tinnell, Jr. and wife Ramie and John Tinnell; daughter, Jocelyn Tinnell; grandchildren, Katelynn, Derrick, Elizabeth, and August; sister Jan Beck and husband Dan; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give special thanks to Southwest Home Healthcare and Heart to Heart Hospice. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, North Lamar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 4029 S. Capital of Texas Highway, Suite 120, Austin, TX 78704 Thomas is gone from this earth…but not from our hearts.
