Thomas Lee Llewellyn passed away on Friday, September 16, 2005. He was born December 11, 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Murton Bromley Llewellyn and Julia Richaud Llewellyn. The family moved to Houston, Texas after WWII. He attended public schools in Houston and Aldine. After a three year stint in the Army, he graduated from University of Houston in 1960. He taught in HISD for 8 years and was active in the Houston Teachers Association, including a stint as its president from 1968-1969. Thomas accepted a position with the Texas State Teachers Association in 1969 where he worked until surgery for a brain tumor forced his retirement in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Frances Waltrip Llewellyn; sons, Thomas Lee Llewellyn Jr. and Timothy Leland Llewellyn (Elizabeth); and grandson, William. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel followed by military honors.
