Thomas H. Beers passed away at age seventy-five on September 16, 2023. He was ten days shy of turning seventy-six. Thomas was born September 26, 1947, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of the late Howard Hotchkiss Beers of Florida and Leona Grace LaFontaine of Stratford, Connecticut. He went to Mystic Deaf Oral School until 1965 and graduated from the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Connecticut in 1967. He worked for AVCO for many years.
Thomas was a hard worker and specialized in installing tiles for many in Las Vegas. He was very artistic and took great pride in his work. He loved football and his favorite NFL team was the Jets. Thomas was involved with the deaf bowling league in Las Vegas and loved playing poker. He was the past president of the Bridgeport Deaf Club for several years.
Thomas was predeceased by his brother Howie, and sister-in-law Betty both of Stratford, Connecticut.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-four years, Carol Ann (Biando) Beers, whom he lived with in Henderson, Nevada, before moving to Austin, Texas, in the summer of 2021. He is also survived by his son Harper Beers of Milford, Connecticut; daughter Laureen (Beers) Smalley; son-in-law Tim Smalley; grandson Zylan Smalley of Henderson, Nevada, and nephew Charles Beers of Stratford, Connecticut.
Thomas will be remembered for the way in which he shared his heart with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them, and if you knew him, you knew it. Thomas will be missed dearly.
