Thera Nance, born April 8, 1924, left us on August 28, 2003, to celebrate her new life with God. She was a master watchmaker for over 58 years, establishing the first watchmakers guild in Texas. She was a pilot and commandant of Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue. Her laugh, smile, whistle, mandolin, and other gifts will be greatly missed. Thera has left behind a son, Lee Scott Giles and wife Roberta; grandchildren, David and Hannah, of Kansas City, Missouri, Summer, of Harker Heights, and Nathan, of Temple; great-grandchild, Olivia; best friend, Jeanne Crawford, of Austin; sisters, Dorothy Nance, of Sargent, Catherine Frid, of Cedar Park, Adena Chapman and husband Kenneth, of Bristow, Oklahoma, Lois Hill, of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Stella Sosler, of Crawford; and brothers, Walt Nance, Jimmy Nance and wife Rita, of Troy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas.
