Terry Paul Burleson was born July 11th, 1943 in Austin Texas to Ruth Morris and Paul Dietz Burleson. He learned at a very young age responsibility and fished and hunted in central Texas in his youth to provide for his mother. Terry grew into a pillar of stoic strength that would define his character for his life. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he met his wife Cindy Burleson after she invited him to get a coke on campus; he was intriguing as the only well groomed student in the UT art department, and they were married in 1969. They travelled to art shows together and vacationed every December for many years. Terry became an accomplished and prolific wildlife artist with works used by Ducks Unlimited and the Turkey Federation. In 1985 the Burleson’s welcomed their daughter, Cheska. Terry was the most wonderful and warm father and taught many skills and lessons. He spent the last weeks of his life fishing, relaxing next to the pool, enjoying family meals, and building items to help prepare for the arrival of his grand-child, Everett. He was the strongest, most competent man to the last day, making great efforts to help his family. Cindy, Cheska, and his son in-law, Sam, will miss his quiet and capable presence, but Terry will live on through his grandchild, the love and principles he imparted, and our many cherished memories.
Please join Terry’s family for a Celebration of his Life held at the County Line Restaurant on 2222 and Hwy. 360. The date and time are Sunday, August 27th beginning at 5pm.
