Tammy was called to Heaven on Tuesday. She left behind her companion, Bryan Waylander of Austin, Texas; mother, Marianna Wood of Austin; father, Larry Nelson Wood and wife Carolyn B. Wood of Wallace, North Carolina; grandmother, Hazel Wood of Wallace, North Carolina; brother, Michael Shane Wood and wife Teresa Wood of Leander, Texas; and her faithful dog Sox and cat Pee Wee. Tammy was raised as a Methodist. Tammys faith and love of God was with her daily. Tammy was born in Austin, Texas and attended school in Pflugerville, Texas and graduated in 1983. Tammy loved animals and the ocean. She loved the ocean through her family trips as a child to the Atlantic coast and visiting her grandparents in Wallace, North Carolina. She learned the art of gardening and the love of plants from her Grandmother Wood and Grandmother Hejl. Tammys green thumb could bring a dead plant back to life. Like both of her grandmothers, Tammy was an excellent cook. We all looked forward to the holidays when Tammy would prepare the holiday feast. Tammy love spending time with Bryan on the Texas coast deep sea fishing or walking the beach collecting oyster shells to make wind chimes. Her love for animals showed with various pets in her lifetime from turkeys, chickens, ducks, pot belly pigs, cats and dogs. Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents, John B. and Lilly K. Hejl of Austin, Texas; and Troy Wood of Wallace, North Carolina. Tammy leaves behind many special aunts, uncles, cousins, step-brothers, and friends. Tammys kind heartedness and willingness to help others will be greatly missed as well as her good cooking. May you now rest in peace. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the ICU at North Austin Medical Center for all they did for Tammy. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her name to the Austin Humane Society.
