Susan Fay Molina, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on February 8, 2022. Susan was born on November 6, 1951 in Austin, TX and was one of 6 children.
Susan married Mike Molina on February 13, 1966 and raised 6 children. She was a loving, supportive wife and devoted mother. She fell in love at a young age and faithfully supported her husband in his many ventures, including working as a bookkeeper with her husband and kids in the family business. Her children went on to raise their own children with the same family-first values. Susan adored being a grandmother to 24 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, with 1 on the way. As the family grew, Susan remained the beloved cornerstone of her family, instilling in all of them her values of togetherness, compassion, and love. Her favorite pastimes included Friday “family fun night”, devoutly and whole-heartedly cheering for her Spurs (especially Ginobli), cooking special meals for her family (like tacos, aka “something different”), keeping up with her favorite shows and spending time with her family. One of her favorite sayings was “live, laugh, love” and she did.
She is survived by her children: Yvonne and Chris Ojeda, Michael and Amanda Molina, Victoria and Nathan Foyt, Terese and Chris Everson, Marc and Amanda Molina and Cynthia and Oscar Tirado; her father, John Carrizales, sisters Diana Rodriguez, Grace Hidrogo, and Iris Urea and brother Roy Carrizales.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Molina, her mother Ofelia Carrizales and her brother Joe Carrizales.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 13, 2022 (would have been their 56th anniversary) with a recitation of the Holy Rosary starting at 4:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Louis Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX at 10:00 am on Monday, February 14, 2022. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks, 14501 Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX.
Susan loved flowers and plants. If friends and family would like to send flowers or a plant in her honor, the family would appreciate it. As an alternative, to help our Austin community, a city she grew up in and loved very much, you can also make a donation in her honor to Mobile Loaves & Fishes of Austin (https://mlf.org).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cookwaldenfuneralhome.com for the Molina family.
