Susan was a committed civic leader throughout her life. While raising her family in Corpus Christi, she was an active member of the CCISD school board. After moving to Austin, she became a leader at the state level. Susan was part of Governor White's Select committee, later she was part of Leadership Texas, along with Ann Richards. She was the Executive Director of Texans Care for Children and Texas Association of Infant Mental Health.
Susan was a consumate adventurer, who loved to travel the world with her beloved husband, Don.
Susan is survived by her husband, Don Craven; son, Josh Hopkins and wife Jana; daughters, Laura Figueroa, and Amy Morsey and husband Michael Morsey; four grandchildren: Holden, Hayes and Brinley Hopkins, and Sterling Figueroa; and sister, Ann Fitzpatrick.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Seaside Memorial Park Chapel in Corpus Christi, TX. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery.
