She was predeceased by her parents Willie and Thelma Woodard, brothers Bill Woodard, O.M. Woodard, Johnny Woodard, Lawrence Woodard and Derby Woodard.
Sue is survived by daughter, Dena L. Flynn, son-in-law, Llew Flynn, and granddaughter, Jordan K. Flynn; daughter, Kimberli Wallace and granddaughter, Presley N. Wallace; her sister, Joyce Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who all fondly loved her as “Aunt Sue”.
Sue graduated from W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas and then attended Del Mar College of Corpus Christi, Texas to obtain her associates degree. She then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to marry and start her family. While there she worked in the accounting department at the Riviera Hotel and Caesar’s Palace Hotel.
Sue and her two daughters moved back to Texas and later began her career as a medical transcriptionist for heart surgeons in the Austin area. In 1981, Sue began working in the Real Estate field and loved it so much that she went back to school to obtain her Texas Real Estate license and continued in this field until she retired in 2003. She has resided in the Dallas-Fort Worth area the last 13 years.
She had been able to be a big part of her daughters' and her two granddaughters' life which is what made her the most happiest even in her time of sickness. She loved being “Noni” to her Jordan and Presley and they loved her so much in return. Each moment we had with her was priceless. We loved her dearly and we will miss her more than words can describe.
Sue was also so very happy and grateful to be able to enjoy more time this past year with her best friend of 66 years, Kathy Clary whom she fondly called “Cookie”.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M., Friday, March 24, 2017, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow in the Chapel at 3:30 P.M. Interment will be at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
Sue has suffered from Lewy Body Disease for the last 10 years. The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her honor to Lewy Body Dementia Association or America Parkinson Disease Association.
