I'm incredibly sorry that I didn't get the chance to know her better. I was part of her A-2 team during my first year of college (the "And I'm Home" show), and the one thing I truly knew about her was how kind and helpful she wanted to be to our other members. She made everyone smile, even during stretch block, when there wasn't often anything to be amused about yet because we had only just arrived for rehearsal. I'm also sorry that I didn't hear about what happened until yesterday, because I would have said something sooner. She's in my thoughts, as is your family, and I sincerely hope that you are able to find comfort in this rough time. The best thought I can offer right now is that she is at peace, and that she truly made life better for those she came across.

My mom, Sharon Yankelson, was Shauna's bat mitzvah sponsor and spoke the world of this amazing young woman who was going to be joining our congregation through this timely tradition. Granted this was over 7 years ago, they kept a friendship that was very special to my mom. An amazing life was taken way too soon and she will never be forgotten. May they meet again in heaven and share stories, laughs and hugs. xoxo 



Shauna was so kind and fun and brave. She was persistent and beautiful and always thinking of others. I was lucky to spend a few years with her in middle and high school before moving away. Being in color guard with her gave me even more chances to be inspired by her. I'm praying for y'all during this difficult time. I always felt welcome in your home, and I hope there will be a spirit of peace there.

Shauna was a true friend to me throughout high school. We had many classes together and she never failed to make them more enjoyable.
