Sarah Virginia Sanders, beloved daughter of Susan Jones Sanders and Bob Sanders, both of Austin, passed away at home October 30, 2007. Her mother, father and two brothers were at her side and two yellow butterflies danced at the window. The living room was filled with family and friends who gathered to be with her, and there is no doubt she felt the love all around her. Sarah was a joy to be with from day one and words cannot express our grief and sadness at her untimely death. She lived a happy life full of humor and zest. Sarah was plucky, strong, poised and graceful until the very end, and we are so very proud of her. This past year, though full of uncertainty, was rich in love, and her struggle with cancer touched many. Sarah graduated from Texas Tech University in 2000, made many friends there and had fond memories of that time. She is survived by brothers, Luke and Scott Sanders, Scotts wife Jerra and their daughters, Jenna, Bailey and Kaitlyn as well as paternal grandfather, George W. Sanders. She was predeceased by paternal grandmother Sue Sanders, and maternal grandparents, Nelva and Davie Jones of Lamesa, Texas. Sarah was blessed with a large, loving family and leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss her terribly. Sarah was a loyal and steadfast friend to many and they, too, grieve for her. The family wishes to thank her doctors and staff at Southwest Regional Cancer Center, the nursing staff on 7N at Seton, Dr. S. Neelapu at MD Anderson, Hospice Austin and special people like Louis and Terri whose treatments gave her comfort. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 2, 2007 at First United Methodist Church, 1201 Lavaca. A reception will follow at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fertile Hope, Hospice Austin or the Humane Society. Golden girl, embraced by light. Completely healed.
