Ruth Ryan Bell Ruth Ryan Bell was born on January 20, 1918, in Caldwell, Texas. She was the youngest of the three children of Nena Waller and William Hancock Ryan. She fell ill suddenly at her home and died on September 19, 2003. She is now at peace with her Heavenly Father. Ruth is survived by her husband of 61 years, H.C. Dulie Bell, her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and John Sharkey, her granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Sharkey, and her brother and his wife, Bill and Lois Ryan of Bryan, Texas. Her parents and her sister Rosalie preceded her in death. Ruth was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother and a loyal friend, and she was blessed to have so many wonderful ones! She was a member of Tarrytown Baptist Church, Junior Helping Hand and was a resident of Austin for 67 years. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22nd at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Chapel with Jane Dryden Louis officiating. Burial to follow at the Texas State Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite 100, 78759. Ruth was a woman of strong character, great courage and steadfast honesty. Her family will forever miss her sweet smile, her sense of joy, her love of life and her always beautiful and elegant self. They are especially grateful to Hospice Austin and Mary Burgess and to Dr. Charles Felger for their kindness and support while caring for our dear Ruth.
