Roy H. Reynolds, Jr. Roy H. Reynolds, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 after a brief battle with cancer. He died at home surrounded by his family. Roy was born March 2, 1924 in Pecan Gap, Texas. With the loss of his mother due to childbirth, he was raised by his grandparents. He attended Kilgore Jr. College before enlisting in the Army Air Corps and serving in World War II. He was a crew chief for B-29s on Guam. After the war he attended the University of Texas. On June 1, 1946, he married Carolyn Carleton, a partnership that lasted until her death on June 1, 1996 which was their 50th anniversary. For 53+ years, Roy worked in retail sales within ½ block of 6th and Congress. (Dacys, Merritt Shaefer & Brown and Josephs Mens Shop.) He is survived by his son, Ronald. H. Reynolds, Sr. and wife, Mary, his daughter, Nancy L. Springen and husband, Clyde; grandchildren Nancy Michelle Reynolds, Ronald H. (Bo ) Reynolds, Jr., Erika Springen, Anderson (Andy) Springen; Great Grandson Jacob Reynolds; brother- in- law, A.T. (Toby) Carleton and wife, Corinne and their children Cathy Martin, Elaine Carleton, Phil Carleton and numerous cousins. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 26, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 27, 2004 at 10:00 am. at St. Davids Episcopal Church (7th & San Jacinto). Interment with military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
