Rose Beran

Rose was born on February 9, 1930, in New York City, New York, to Matthew and Hermine Prilucik. After growing up in the Bronx, she went to Hunter College. After graduating, Rose took a civil service job and moved to Japan where she met her true love, John Beran. John and Rose married in 1955 and enjoyed a military life. During their life together, they were blessed with three sons, John Beran, Tom Beran (deceased December 21, 2002), and Bob Beran.

Rose traveled to Austria countless times to visit her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be greatly missed for her intellect and curiosity, her amazing dinners, the love she had for her children and grandchildren, and the stores will miss her shopping. Rose always shopped in groups of four for: Jack and Rose, John, Tom, and Bob--she truly loved to shop.

She is survived by John Beran and wife, Maribeth and sons, Matthew of San Antonia, Texas. and Michael of Austin, Texas. Bob Beran and wife, Donna and daughter Olivia of Madison, Wisconsin and son Lucas of Austin, Texas. Daughter-in-law Helen (Tom's wife) of San Diego, California and son Andrew.

Preceding Rose in death is her parents, Matthew and Hermine Prilucik and son, Tom Beran, and dear dear brother Otto Prilucik, who she argued with lovingly.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10205 FM 620 N, Austin, TX 78726.
