Ronald Dee Ratliff, age 58 of Cedar Park, Texas unexpectedly passed away on, June 11, 2011. Ron was a loving husband and father of 3. As a graduate of the Oklahoma Baptist University, Ron began his career as an educator. Shortly thereafter, Ron enlisted in the United States Air Force to provide a better life for his family and served as Russian Linguist for the airborne division at RAF Chicksands, England. Ron’s career as a CPA took him and his family to the countries of Holland and Russia. He worked for 12 years with the prestigious accounting firms of Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche in Moscow, Russia. He spent one year in Siberia, Russia establishing a western style accounting system. Often his luggage was limited for his own personal items, because it contained shoes, socks, toys, letters and drawings from his own children’s American classrooms for the children in Siberia.

After moving to Austin, Texas, he began his private accounting practice. His sense of honesty, fairness and compassion served him and the community well. Ron believed one could not achieve success without giving back. He proudly served many charitable, civic and professional organizations throughout his adult life.
Ron is survived by his wife Vicki Dianna Ratliff of 37 years, his son Christopher Heath Ratliff, twin daughters, Deborah Jean and Elizabeth Ann Ratliff, and grandson Gerhardt Brian Ratliff. Christopher best defined the life Ron led as, “the best measure of what a man should aspire to be”.
