Ronald Wayne Munn, age 66, of Austin passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011. He was born on November 14, 1944 to Joseph and Lila Munn Jr. in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from St. John High School located in Ennis, Texas. For a short period he attended Concordia College (now university) in Austin, taking general studies. Later he studied as a political science major at the University of the State of New York through correspondence courses while on active duty with the United States Army. He retired from the military with 25 years of service in 2002.
He studied piano and violin at St. John, and performed as a section violinist with the University of Texas Chamber Orchestra in Austin under the baton of Dr. William Raber (LTC. U.S. Air Force Retired). He had nine published original works, was a member of ASCAP, and a member of the American Federation of Musicians. He was owner of Full Sound Publishing Company and SchatzSteph Records.
He felt that playing the violin was very rewarding and a great joy to both musician, and audience.
Ronald is survived by his mother, Lila Morris Munn; brother, Joseph L. Munn and wife Jeannette; niece, Jennifer Wood and her children; and two cousins,
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Graveside Service 11:15 am on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Grand Prairie, Texas.
