Ronald H. Follis died on August 20, 2022, at age 76, after losing his long battle with cancer as a result of exposure to Agent Orange.
Ronnie served in the Vietnam War as a Navy SEABEE from 1968-1969. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he began his lifetime (50+ years) work as a Union Iron Worker, following in his father’s footsteps. Ron was an avid fan of race car driving. As a teenager, Ron worked in the pit crews at the Albuquerque Speedway. While in his 30s, he obtained his own Sprint Car and traveled the Sprint Car circuit enjoying life. Ron was a hard-working man who did his best at all times.
Ron is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jacolynn (Jackie), daughter Cheryl Wilson (Baillie), son Todd Wilson (Nitai), granddaughter Arya Wilson, brothers Bob (Judy) and Bill (Gloria) Follis, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Ron will be dearly missed by his family and closest friends.
