Ronald Raymond Erickson

Ronald Raymond Erickson, age 90, passed away on January 27, 2024. He was born June 23, 1933 in Muskegon, Michigan, to Raymond and Rose Erickson. After graduating from Muskegon High School, he enlisted in the US Air Force during the Korean War, serving four years as a draftsman and in crash rescue while in Korea. He continued his education in Michigan and graduated from Ferris State University.

He met his wife Nellie in Riviera Beach, Florida while employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. They married in 1962 in Muskegon where he was employed at Johnson Products for over 13 years; then he decided to move to Texas to start his own business, which he ran for over 20 years.

He loved traveling, gardening, country music, his family, and his country, and he was a VFW member. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nellie; two daughters Susan Erickson Whiteley (and husband Don), Angela Erickson Melito; son Daniel Erickson (and wife Amanda); 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, Parkcrest Dr., Austin, TX, on Friday, February 2 from 5-7 PM. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral, Austin, TX, on Saturday, February 3 at 10 AM. You may watch on livestream at https://smcaustin.org/video.
