He is predeceased by his daughters Bobby and Kathy and leaves behind his wife, Carolyn, and four living adult children, Kenny, Kim, Tommy, and Jacky, and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

While in Grammar School he was invited to audition for the Boys’ Choir of San Francisco but, due to his lack of interest, managed to miss the bus.

After his military raining through ROTC at Polytechnic High School, he enlisted in the Air Force. His teaching skills became apparent early on in the Air Force when he was tasked with teaching Radio classes. He served his country for over fourteen years before returning to civilian life and later joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary with his wife, Carolyn.

In retirement Bob and Carolyn made extensive trips in their own RV and that of their friends, Gordon and Marilyn. Bob and Carolyn’s jeep was towed to places like Alaska, and Quebec, Canada, for a Fall foliage trip. They visited many friends and family, finding time to visit cemeteries in search of ancestors.

They moved to Fun N Sun in San Benito, TX, in 2004, where Bob took on many jobs including photographing annual club group class pictures, and being responsible for class sign-in sheets. He was active in the Ham Radio Club, instrumental in the creation of the Remote Control Race Car Track and Club, and produced several Park Telephone Directories, at least one of which had pictures of the residents.

Bob will be laid to rest with his parents and daughter Kathy at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park, in Austin, on Saturday, Sept 10, 2022. A Viewing will be held from 11a-12p, with the funeral service being held from 12p-1p, and a graveside, military honors burial at 1p.
