Robert Samuel Millner was born on July 21st, 1933 at Brackenridge hospital,
Austin, TX. He attended Fulmore Jr. High School until his father passed away.
Bobie (how his mama spelled his name) worked at a variety of places around Austin before lying about his age to join the National Guard in August 1949.
He was discharged from the Guard to join the Navy on December 26, 1950 where he spent the next 20 years. Along the way, he married the love of his life, Judy. They had three kids while teaching A school at Great Lakes Naval Station. After retirement from the service, Bob returned to Texas and began another 20 year stretch working for the government, IRS and GSA.
After retirement he worked as a security guard for the IRS. There was nothing he couldn’t fix or “Big-rig” back together. Big Daddy loved his family, especially his grandkids. People loved to be around him, he always had some random fact that you didn’t know or a saying that later came to be known as a “bigism”. He always saw the good in people and had an infectiously positive attitude. He had good friends, young and old that are going to miss him.
Big Daddy gave to many charities, St. Jude was a favorite. Please feel free to give to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
