Robert Julius Meyer

Born in Trenton, New Jersey to parents Julius and Dorothy Meyer, Robert excelled in athletics lettering in both Basketball and Baseball. After High School, Robert enlisted in the US Air Force, serving in Turkey as a Communications officer. After leaving the military, he married Jennifer Findley in London England, and returned to the States. Jennifer and Robert had a son Scott in 1965. Robert worked in the telecommunications industry for AT&T, GTE, Broadwing, and XO Communications. He retired in 2003 and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and More for 10 years. During this time he also traveled extensively.

Robert was a lover of fine arts and fine food. He was also passionate about many charities including: Meals on Wheels and More, Wounded Warrior Project, US Olympic Foundation, Texas Performing Arts, 100 Club Central Texas, Firefighters Charitable Foundation, Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, Texas State Troopers Association, National Rifle Association, and the Anderson Mill Garden Club.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Jennifer in 2008. He has one son, Scott who lives in Austin TX.
