With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Robert Louis LeRoy, a man of strength, kindness, and dedication, who peacefully passed away on April 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on July 31, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, and attended Wilbur Wright High School class of 1956. Starting as a skilled toolmaker, he eventually became the owner of several successful businesses, leaving a lasting impact on his community with his hard work and entrepreneurial spirit.
At the center of Bob's world was his beloved wife, Sylvia Nadine Bullock of Mt Vernon, Ky. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage since December 31, 1971, building a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Sylvia was not only his partner but also his rock, offering support and strength through every triumph and challenge they faced together. In addition to his family, Bob had a passion for sports. He and Sylvia often attended sporting events together never missing a chance to cheer on their children and grandchildren as they competed. Beyond his professional pursuits, Bob raced boats for years, a passion he stayed close to throughout his life, moving from racer to team member and then to spectator. He traveled to races with Sylvia where they enjoyed friends and relationships they built in the racing community. Bob was very involved in manufacturing and tooling throughout his life. As an owner of a Tool & Die business, he started a toolmaking apprenticeship program in Austin, TX in the mid-1970s and was a long-standing member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
