Robert "Bobby" P. Jones

On November 22nd, 2022, Robert (Bobby) Patrick Jones entered eternal life at the age of 79. Bobby was born on December 3rd, 1942 to Robert and Patricia Jones. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas University. In 1968, he married his soulmate, Ginger Jones, and together they raised 2 daughters (Dena and J.J.), and 1 son (Trey). Bobby was “Papaw” to his 5 grandchildren (Nicholas, Trinity, Morgan, Savannah, and Jake).

Bobby was a high school teacher, coach and administrator for 35 + years. He was known to all the kids he taught and to all of his coworkers as simply “Coach”. Bobby spent almost all of his professional years coaching football, basketball and track, and he loved it. He was always great with the kids, and they all loved him.

Bobby was also a very skilled craftsman. He loved working and building different things. He would spend hours working on his different projects around the house. Bobby, was most proud of the house that he and Ginger built and raised their family in. He spent his early retirement years completely remodeling that same house 30 years later.

Bobby was a friend to so many and as good a person as you could possibly know. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all those who were lucky enough to know “Coach Jones”.

A memorial service for Robert will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752.
