Brad was a very special guy. He opened up my eyes to so many things starting with that Freshman year in Hess Hall. One of those was snow skiing. This country boy from Paris TN had no idea what this was all about. Little did I know those moments would define my course of life. I’m in the resort hotel business now after falling in love with skiing at Beech Mtn. Brad my next powder turns will be in your honor.

It is still hard to believe that our beloved Blodg has moved on from this life.  He certainly left a legacy of good friends, family and that infectious attitude toward life. I feel blessed to have known him for the past three decades along with the good times and great memories. We are still in Breckenridge until 1/22 and will not be there tomorrow. We share a toast from afar to this great man!

Dearest Janet,  So sorry for you and your families loss. I considered Brad a true friend. Knowing him since 1972 when we first went to Prep and then on to UT my memories are deep and wide. After college, we knew each other from the Investment Bond Business. Many wouldn't know this but when I lost my job in 2002 Brad stood up and immediately wanted to help. He helped me get a job and to feed my 7 kids. What a great friend. He was loyal and faithful to his friends,  I wanted to make sure his kids knew this, which was a great quality he had. Enthusiastic, and always positive he remained positive no matter what life threw at him. He plowed forward. He cared about his family and I can remember when he talked about how about the walk on the El Camino he did with his daughter. When I was in 10th grade we went for a hike on the AT and he talked about it fondly.  Gwen and I live in Scotland right now for the next year so we can't get over to the memorial but know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I consider it an honor to have had him in my life! So sorry I will miss the celebration of his life. I can see him smiling even as we speak. 


My memories of Brad will always be of a happy man with a great big heart and smile.  Ric just loved him and I know, was waiting at the gate to welcome him home with open arms.  My heart, thoughts and prayers for peace go out to Janet and his family for their tremendous loss.  Xoxoxo❤️🙏😘

Brad -UT College Competition-New Orleans circa '80s

So sad to hear of Brad's passing. He was one of a kind who you could not miss hearing when he entered the room. His booming voice and animated expressions were always colorful. He made things happen and was alway ready for fun.  

I met Brad at UT Knoxville. He exposed me to things this Yankee had never seen. It always surprised me that a country boy from Arkansas knew more about culture,  oriental rugs, road bikes and to many things you can't mention.  We represented UT at the national American Advertising Federation competition in New Orleans and had a memorable road trip there and back that I'll never forget.

After college, he invited me every year out to Breckenridge where we skied non stop for days. The trip always ended with "On behalf of Ralston Purina gentlemen, there will be no charge for your accommodations. " because of one of the many friends Brad had and still has.    

Later on, frequent trips to New York brought us together periodically.  Galavanting around the city like we owned it. Those get togethers I vaguely remember but a night out on the town with Brad often was that way. Fun all night long. 

As a friend, he never changed. He was always there for you and at a moments notice dropped what he was doing to save your ass.  He did this for me on 9/11 when I got stuck in Houston. He picked me up, two infants and my ex, and made a pretty tough time the best it could be.  He'd always insisted on buying the wine (not to insult me that his taste in wine was not in price range).

We communicated every year and always on 9/11 but the gaps never made a difference. Nothing ever changed between us. He was a constant in a ever changing world. 

I'll miss you Brad and look forward to seeing your friends this weekend to celebrate your life, give comfort to your family and share stories of experiences that made my life fun.

Blodg was the most genuine and infectious person I've ever met.  I met him over 30 years ago and what struck  me most was his easy goin manner mixed with his magnetic personality,  everyone migrated towards him.  I was lucky enough to become his friend, and i'll always cherish my many fond memories of times with him and our pals.

I too go back some 30 years to when we first met in the Boca office of Westcap.
We became immediate friends and have enjoyed an unspoken bond of friendship ever since.
Blodg always had a smile on his face, and if I had to pick one word to describe him, it would be "jolly".   He never sang the blues 
(ever hear him sing?) he just loved listening to them.
I loved you dearly my friend.

I can't even begin to imagine how heartbroken you all must be. Downtown won't be the same  without Brad's distinctive smile and "hurry up and get there" walk.

I'm pretty much always close by with my office being a block from Seaholm and my residence being a block from Gus's. I know I mentioned this on the phone but please don't hesitate to shoot me a text if you need ANYTHING (errands, help with the cars, handyman stuff, checking in on Gus's, filling in at Gus's, help with the pup, a good stiff cocktail...).

Our hearts are broken. Brent and I send our love and sympathies.  Brad was a "full of life" man and always a pleasure to be with! We pray soon your broken hearts will be filled with loving memories!  Extending prayers to the entire family!

No one lived or loved life more than the Blodge.   I will miss you everyday buddy. 

I had the privilege of being very close friends with Brad for more than 30 years.   He lived his life to the fullest every single day.  I will miss you terribly but I know I have amazing memories of the times with you that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

So sad to find out the news today from dear Janet. For those of us  who were lucky enough to know Brad, he will always be with us.  He was bigger than life, lived on his own terms, took care of those he loved, brought people together, made us laugh, wanted each of us to be our best selves.  I miss him.  But!!  I'm grateful to have had him in my life.  Love and peace to Janet, the kids, his mother and all who loved him.

Shocked and sad to learn the news today.  Lots of fond memories, working together, concerts, Memphis in May boondoggles, fishing in the Keys with Leo and the gang from Memphis....
Blodge was an original, always laughing, upbeat and enjoying life to the fullest- May God bless his gentle soul and comfort Janet and the kids. 

He was my neighborhood running buddy. He lived on my street and we had the best times getting into all the mischief we possibly could. His parents were the best and they loved that son more than life. I have thought of the pranks we pulled and thank God for sharing you with me.  Fly high Brad see ya on the other side. 

There will NEVER be another Blodg.  There could never be a better friend or finer person. Pop a cork for me Blodgie!!!!
