He was a special soul who never harmed anyone or anything in his entire life, and it is sure that he is enjoying a unique place in heaven. Robert spent much of his life in his home state of Tennessee where he worked in many different workshop environments building office furniture or making a variety of other products. He and his mother moved to Texas in 2001 where he enjoyed employment with Albertson’s and Lifetime Fitness for many years. Robert loved music, and he spent many hours listening to it and amassed a formidable collection of records and CDs. He loved pizza and cars and watches and liked to make sure all clocks in the house were synchronized. He was well-traveled, having lived in Florida, Pennsylvania, and New York during the years living with his parents. He and his mother took many trips together, and he also traveled with the Adventurers Academy of Lifelong Learning here in Austin.
Robert now rests with his beloved and devoted mother who cared for him for 63 years. He joins her and his father at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. He leaves behind his sister, Catherine Cabrera and her husband Rick and nephew Matthew Cabrera and extended family members in Tennessee. The family extends a special appreciation to Aisha Ewusie, his exceptional caregiver of many years for the love and compassion she provided to Robert. Appreciation is also extended to the Adventurers of Austin for including him in many of their excellent activities and camping trips. Donations to the Adventurers in Robert’s memory will be especially appreciated.
