Robert Wayne Beeney of Austin, Texas passed on June 16, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born on April 11, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up nearby in Independence. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1958 and Central Missouri University in 1969. He served in the Army, 6th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and he worked in financial accounting for most of his life. He also spent some time working as a real estate broker. Robert and his family lived in Independence, Missouri, Great Bend, Kansas, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Jackson, Tennessee, Westerville, Ohio, Jackson, Michigan, and Saline, Michigan before moving to Austin, Texas.
Robert is preceded by his parents Jacob Wayne Beeney and Ruby Louise (Barr) Beeney.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Giovanna (Ventura) Beeney, his children, Patrick Beeney (Regina), Marisa Beeney, and Dana Taylor (Matthew), his sister, Nancy Bishoff, his childhood friend, Johnny Evans, and four grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend Robert’s Celebration of Life at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. It will be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas, 78749.
