Robert Pat William Arhelger passed away due to natural causes, Friday, November 23, 2007. He was married for 60 years to Evelyn Faye (Holcomb) Arhelger, who passed in October, 2000. Robert and Faye were members of Faith Methodist Church. Robert was born in San Saba, Texas on January 27, 1919, the son of Harry Arhelger and Martha (Willig) Arhelger, and brother to Alvin Arhelger. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas, where, after graduating from high school, he served a machinist apprenticeship at San Angelo Machine and Foundry. In 1944, he enlisted in the US Army and served on Luzon in the Philippine Islands until the end of the war. After returning to the US, he and his family moved to Austin, where he worked as a machinist, first for Modern Supply Company and then at the Texas Highway Department until his retirement. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Hubertus; son, John; three grandchildren, Julie Hall, Bobby Hubertus and Susan Ferguson; and by three great-grandchildren, Jessica Petrillo, Carl and Lucy Ferguson. The family would like to express their appreciation to Monte Siesta Nursing Home and to Odyssey Hospice Care for their attention and care in Roberts final years. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Salvation Army. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Wilke-Clay-Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
