
Robbie was a true force of nature leaving an undeniable mark in the lives of everyone he touched. There is a great void with his passing, but his memory and the contribution he made to my life and many others will always remain.    The heavens have one more bright shining star!



God bless the friends and family of Robbie Scott.  I have been made aware of the positive influence Robbie made in the life of Christine Sullivan-- and I can attest that he did some very good work!



This world isnt the same now with Robbie off and gone!  Neither is Heaven:  Robbie and Eudell and Bill and Cecil and all those other Old Guys are laughing and carrying on, and I can just see them: happy, joyous and free!  What a guy!  I was privileged to be Robbie's friend and sponsor for some 35 years, though, in truth I know he  sponsored me every bit as much as I did him.  He was the genuine article.  Real, truthful, open, compassionate, broken and re-created in this program by God' Grace.  And he knew it.    He was fulfilled when Louanna came into his life as friend, lover, partner, companion.  How blessed he knew himself to be.    How blessed I have been to have had him as Great, Loving, Exhuberant Friend.    Lord, I will miss him!



Hi Luanna,    I am so sorry to hear about Robbie.  I still remember the day that we met during a meeting on July 4th, 2003.  I was 3 months sober at the time and you were both so kind to me.  I am certain that Robbie will live on with those he touched during his sobriety.

I met Robbie at Sam Houston School, in the 6th grade, remember he was a school crossing guard, wearing that white belt.  I wanted to do that also, but was never called.  We were neighbors when I lived on Tyler Street and he lived across the street from my Uncle Butch on Harrison.  We talked about rigging up tin cans with strings on them for telephones to each other, but could never figure out how to do it (ha).  I'll miss Robbie, he was one fine fellow...



I think the services today correctly reflected what Robbie meant to me and so many others. He was a special friend that will be cherished and remembered all the days of my life--- he will continue to live in the hearts and minds of so many he has touched, and in that respect, Robbie will never die.  I can truly say he is one of my favorite people I have ever known and he helped me greatly during some of the darkest days of my life. I can only wish  Godspeed to Luanna and everyone else who grieve his loss. He will be greatly missed.



I was proud to be part of the service and represent Marc.  I have had the privilege of knowing Robbie for the past 17 years.  I am grateful Marc and I could count on Robbie through celebrations as well as difficult times.



Dear Luanna and Family,      Robbie was my hero from the get go.  He was instrumental in my sobriety and proved to me that "if you work it --- it will work". He was always smiling, positive, and made time for everyone. He always knew a little about everyone's family even about their pets.  He was a father figure to me and guided me through many rough times.  I will remember all the many tools that Robbie taught me about living.  We will all miss you.



As my sponsor for the past 18+ years, Robbie helped me throught the rough spots in my early recovery.  As my best man at my wedding, Robbie was like the father I lost a few years before.  In place of being at the services today, I think Robbie would want me to carry the message of recovery today at work, one alcoholic sharing with another.

I was blessed to know Robbie for 21 years. Robbie knew me for 31 years having been my fathers sponsor. Had I not had that great AA lineage, lord only knows if I would be here today and enjoy the gift of sobriety that I have. Robbie was huge in my sobriety. He helped many hundreds get sober. He leaves a great void at Northland & Austin AA.  I thank Robbie for so much.... his great, welcoming smile, those great booming and enthusiastic greetings, his sage advice, his love, and his eulogy at my fathers memorial last month.  Robbie was my stand-in-sponsor, my 12x12 concordance, my AA compass and my friend.   I will always remember Robbie. He was a gift. His spirit lives within us all!



My wife, Marty, and I were sorry to learn of Robbie's sudden death.  He was a wonderful guy and helped so many people.  As a former business partner, Robbie and I shared many wonderful experiences and we will always have fond memories of him.    Doug & Marty Murrell

What I say is only an inadequate expression of what I carry in my heart for Robbie. Words pale in the shadow of grief; they seem insufficient even to measure the great sacrifice Robbie made in helping others. Robbie was a symbol of selfless humanity. Someone with a natural nobility who generated his particular brand of magic. Robbie showed us what a man should be. I am proud to say that Robbie was my Godfather, and only recently have I learned how lucky I was.  We came to know each other in this last year, and I will always be a better person for sharing that time.  He was a lifelong friend of my father, Don Hopper, from their childhood days growing up in the Rio Grande Valley to this day.  He has been there for us in troubled times, without hesitation, and I will never forget or be able to repay the love and support he gave when it was most needed. Loved Robbie like a second dad.    He will be sorely missed, but my dad just made a great friend yesterday to talk and pray with.  They were much alike, those two.  But I will look forward to a great reunion one day when I hear that unmistakeable voice say, "Hey, Wesley Boy!" and look around to find Ol'Robbie.  He was one of a kind - that guy. I am Robbie's first cousin in Arkansas.  My mom and Uncle Ben, Robbie's dad, were brother and sister.  Last year Robbie came to the Scott reunion in Star City for the first time since 1975.  It was a joy to see him and visit with him during that day.  Wesley and Craig along with a grandson were with him and we all enjoyed seeing them so much.  I had looked forward to this year and hopefully seeing them again.  I will look forward to the great reunion in the future with the Lord and His children. Robbie is one of the great men of history for many of us.  He emulated everything that a Godly man strives to be!
