Rita was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 5, 1980 and moved to Austin in July of 1990. She most recently worked with a wonderful group of people at the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. Beginning in her late teens, Rita was a loving caretaker for many families. She graduated from Round Rock High School in 1999 and later proudly earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Texas at Austin. She was a member of St. Williams Church of Round Rock and The American Lebanon Association. Rita volunteered often at Family Eldercare and the Capital Area Food Bank.
Rita was a miracle since her birth in 1980. She had an amazing heart, and even in times of pain, was more concerned with others than herself. She always had a smile on her face. Rita lived her life courageously and found joy in the simplest things, especially seeing and loving the many children in her life.
Rita is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Abi-Rached, and her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Leila Abi-Rached; siblings, Rebecca Lusk and husband Craig, Raymond Abi-Rached and wife Bretagne, and Richard Abi-Rached. Rita is also survived by her fiancé William “Beans” Brown, her two beloved nieces Addison and Alyssa Lusk and nephew Jakob Lusk, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and their children- all of whom she loved dearly. Rita has many family members in Lebanon and Australia who miss her dearly as well. Rita has touched so many around the world.
Rita will always be alive in our hearts and minds because she touched our lives in so many ways.
