He was preceded in death by his father Richard, mother Selma, and sister Valdene. He is survived by his beloved wife JoAnn, to whom he was married for over 60 years; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
He was a member of the US Army for two years and the 36th Infantry Division for three years as a reservist. In his early business career, he worked for several Texas Insurance Companies in Home Office Management and as an officer. Thereafter he owned and operated King Florist for 30 years with his wife. He then owned and operated RGW Horticultural Services for 15 years.
During his business career, he was active in numerous civic and professional organizations often serving in leadership roles. He lived in awe and deep respect of all nature’s beauty and greatness, a source of great personal joy. He was a practitioner of organic gardening, farming, and ranching, which fully occupied his retirement years.
He loved God, and cherished his wife along with relatives and friends. He had a deep commitment to truth, decency, and integrity.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks.
