Austin, Texas – Rebecca (Becky) Kay Lockett, 51, of Austin, Texas passed away on May 27, 2021, by taking her own life. Rebecca was born July 14, 1969, in Austin, Texas. She was the only daughter of Benjamin Ellis Lockett, Jr. Her mother, Wanda Mae Drew, who was born in Kentucky, had three daughters, Alexis Murdock, Rebecca Lockett, and Holly Sierra.
Becky was preceded in death by her mother Wanda Mae Drew in 2018, her younger sister Holly Kendra Sierra in 2017, Uncle Charles Drew (Claudia) in 2012, Aunt Geraldine Drew Blankenship (James) in 2016, and Uncle Eugene Drew (Anita) in 2012. She is survived by her older sister Alexis Murdock of San Antonio, Texas; her father Benjamin Ellis Lockett, Jr. (Gail) Leesburg, Georgia; Aunt Babs Lockett Davis (John) Austin, Texas; stepfather Morris Abel Sierra (Sharon) Crosby, Texas; stepbrother Bryon Sierra, California; and several other stepbrothers and stepsisters. Also left to cherish her memory are her niece Natalia McLear (Kyle) and nephew Nicholas Darr. She had many cousins but the ones who stayed in touch with her the most were Deborah Blankenship, Gina Drew Groce (Greg), and Robert Drew (Amanda).
Rebecca legally married and divorced once, but the marriage was for reasons other than love. When she was much younger, she was in love with and lived with a lovely lady Michelle, but they parted ways in California. Rebecca moved many times throughout her life, living in Texas, Georgia, California, and New Mexico. She had a love of anything and everything beautiful. Mary Kay products were a passion, crafts, and jewelry making. She earned her cosmetology license and worked as a hairdresser for a while. She loved animals, but especially loved cats.
Rebecca, known as Becky or Becca, was a sweet fragile spirit who made the best of life with what she had. She struggled to stay healthy and strong. She was loved. May Becky’s memory be a blessing.
