Reba Jean Spears of Austin, Texas passed away January 25, 2023 at the age of 86. Reba was born January 29, 1936 in Fort Worth, Texas to parents Henry W and Paulina Cook. In her youth, she attended Polytechnic High School. After graduation, she pursued a career as a telephone operator. Reba was a devout member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She also was a part of the Day Timers group. Reba had many hobbies including bowling, dominoes, bingo, card games, and watching game shows. Her favorite game shows were Jeopardy, Family Feud, and Wheel of Fortune. Reba loved her Cowboy and Longhorn football. She was very competitive, and talkative and loved to travel and explore.
Reba is survived by her children Sherri (Michael) Beaver of Leander, TX, Scott (Jan) Spears of Pflugerville, TX, Steven (Michaela) Spears of Austin, TX, ex-husband of 37 years Gene Spears, siblings Leroy (Willa Vee) Cook of Saginaw, TX, and Leola (Gene; has passed) Thompson of Texarkana, TX. Reba also leaves behind seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 8 nieces, and 10 nephews.
Reba is proceeded in death by Floyd (Mae) Cook of Fort Worth, TX, Archie (Mary) Cook of Lake Jackson, TX, Thelma (Richard) Hancock of Granbury, TX, and Anna Mae (Bob) McClernan of Baltimore, MD.
