Raymond Jess Hanson, age 82, of Austin, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2009. Ray was born on the 4th of July, 1927 in Beverly, Massachusetts. He retired with 24 years of active duty service in the U.S. Air Force, retiring from Bergstrom AF Base in 1972. Ray then worked in Austin for Curtis Office Supply for 12 years. Ray married Alice Gutherie in 1951. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2003. He is survived by his son, Allan Hanson of Georgetown; brother, John R. Hanson and wife Eydie of Massachusetts; and his dear niece, Bonnie Hanson; and long time friend, Laney Buethe of Austin. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish, 2620 South Congress. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm with Reverend Mark Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
