Randy Dee Holmes June 20, 1963 – May 30, 2012
Sarah Ann Sembach Holmes July 19, 1964 – May 31, 2012
Sarah lost her battle with cancer on May 31 and Randy preceded her in death by a day on May 30. Randy and Sarah leave behind their precious children, son Riley David and daughter Katie Jane.
From Riley’s eloquent post on Facebook:
“At times life and the world may seem to be unfairly cruel to us all. Over a 24-hour period this past week I was devastated by the loss of the two most consistent things in my life, my beautiful mother and my rock solid father. My father died in his sleep on May 30th. The following morning, May 31st, my mother succumbed to her two year battle with sarcoma. Although my mother and my father were both taken from us far too soon, I have been able to find peace in a few things over the last three days. I know that although my dad is no longer with me and my sister, Katie, he will never ever have to be without the woman that he loved more than life itself. As my mom left us, it is my understanding that she left in typical Sarah Holmes fashion, with a huge smile on her face. It comforts me to know my mother is no longer in any pain, but more importantly, I know the reason for my mother’s smile as she passed was her husband. I truly believe, and refuse to believe otherwise, that my dad was there waiting to take my mom's hand in his once again. It brings me an incredible amount of peace to know that my parents will be together forever and will not have to be without each other. I love you mom and dad, thank you for everything you have shown me and Katie over the last 19 years. I will forever be indebted to you and you will always live on in my heart and Katie's. I love you two.”
Randy is predeceased by his father David Holmes and survived by his mother, Vivien Holmes, and brother and sister-in-law Jim and Patty Holmes. Sarah is predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Mary Sembach and survived by her siblings, brother and sister-in-law Tom and Rona Sembach, sister and brother-in-law Martha and Ben Lankheet, sister and brother-in-law Jane and Ed Young, and will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews.
