Peggy Marie Parker, beloved wife of Scott M. Parker Jr. and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and dear friend, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2003. Peggy was born in Temple TX on May 10, 1952 to Bernard H. and Shirley H. MacDonald. She was a graduate of Killeen High School, Class of 1970. Peggy married in 1970 and had two children, Donna Marie and James Bryan McPhail. In 1983 Peggy embarked on a long and distinguished career in law enforcement. She began as a corrections officer with the Killeen Police Department. She moved to Austin which led to jobs with several jurisdictions, including the Travis County Sheriff's epartment, the West Lake Hills Police Dept., and the Travis County Constable's Office, Pct. 5. Peggy found her true home when she went to work for the City Of Rollingwood Police Department. Peggy faithfully served the Citizens of Rollingwood for 15 dedicated years. She began as a Patrol Officer and eventually was promoted to Senior Sergeant. She was offered a move from the Police Department to the Municipal Court. She was torn between her love of street police work, but intrigued with the prospect of a new and exciting endeavor. Peggy accepted the move and became a Municipal Court Judge. During her tenure as a Judge she remained dedicated and passionate about her work. At the time of her untimely death, she was still proudly serving the Citizens and the City of Rollingwood. In her free time, Peggy was a passionate animal lover. She had several cats that called her house home. Peggy was an avid horse rider and was the proud owner of Hunter's Moon. Peggy also loved the Ford Mustang and was a member of the Mustang Owners Club of Austin and the Mustang Club of America. In 1984 Peggy met her true soul mate, Scott, which led to a long and loving relationship and marriage. Except for work hours, you would usually not find them apart, They deeply loved each other. They had made many plans for the immediate future and for their continued life together. Peggy was a very loving and likeable person with a terrific sense of humor. She gave of herself and loved to help others. She was a person, that once you met her, you didn't forget her. She usually did not forget you. Peggy would sometimes get a call at home from someone she had not talked to in 15 to 20 years. They could carry on long conversations covering this time span like it was just the week before. She knew many of the Rollingwood citizens by name or could tell you who lived at any given address. Peggy departed this world much to soon. She still had a great deal of love to spread around for years to come. The Lord felt that He needed Peggy with him to brighten things up in Heaven.
