Her will to fight never wavered, but her body did. Peggy Ann Allen peacefully took her last breath here on earth and her first breath in heaven Wednesday evening, August 18th at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 16, 1947.
It would be wrong to say that Peggy lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was determined. When anyone else would have broken, she stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Quitting was not an option.
Peggy was a LOVER of MANY things ~ God, her church & Sunday school class, music, movies, the UT Longhorns, the Dallas Cowboys, the ocean, margaritas & her wine and watching TV. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, traveling and playing Farkle, Mexican Train & Canasta with her friends. She LOVED playing games! Her favorite holiday, without a doubt, was Christmas which then led her to her biggest passion ~ Angels Afoot, where she spent many years heavily involved. Her heart overflowed with pure joy to see the foyer full of gifts; gifts she knew would be making a difference in the lives of many children each Christmas.
Most of ALL, Peggy absolutely ADORED her family and her friends. She will be forever remembered for the way she LOVED ~ She loved BIG and she loved WELL. She was TRULY a REMARKABLE woman who lived her life fully. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful “Memaw,” loyal friend and dedicated “doer” for others.
Her spirit is carried on by her husband, George Allen and her three children, Robert Allen, Tommy Allen and Shayna Otting Judd (husband Tom). Her eight grandchildren, Seth & Hayden Allen, Blake, Justin (wife Lorena) & Garet Allen, Zachary & Landry Otting and Hope Judd. One great grandson, Torin Allen. She is also survived by an extended family and friends.
While Peggy’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember her a way that honors her spirit. Her family invite you to join them in celebrating her life.
