She was born in Liberty Hill, Texas, on July 7, 1933 to Saint Paul and Frankie Mae Conway Johnson.
After her father passed away, she moved with her mother and brother to Austin and lived the remainder of her life there.
Pauline graduated from Austin High School in 1951 and pursued a career at DPS.
She met Alton Urbanek, her lifelong love, and married on July 26, 1952. They enjoyed 54 years together. They had 2 sons.
After retiring from DPS, she and Alton loved taking trips in their RV. Their special place to go every year was Fredericksburg. She inherited a love for dogs from her father and always cherished her dogs.
Pauline is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alton Urbanek; her parents St.Paul and Frankie Johnson; her brother Hardy A. Johnson.
She is survived by her son Gordon and wife Dawn, and her son Brian and wife Evelyn, and a special niece “adopted daughter” Judy Christian. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren Weston Urbanek, Ashley Urbanek West and husband Dusty, Wade Urbanek, Kelsey Urbanek and Courtney Urbanek. She had 3 great-grandchildren: Riley Urbanek, Altin Urbanek and Corban West.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home at 5416 Parkcrest Drive in Austin, Texas 78731. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 10:00am. Interment will be held at the Hopewell Cemetery in Liberty at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers are Donnie Ayers, Andrew (Drew) Smith, Dusty West, Keith Waterman, Wade Urbanek, and Weston Urbanek. Rev. Larry Zabcik will be officiating.
