Our beloved Paula Serrano Castillo resident of Austin, Texas was called by our heavenly father on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the age of 87. Paula was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71years, Raul Lopez Castillo; sisters Alicia Zamaripa, Maria "Pile" Ruiz, and brother Bridigo Serrano; sons Gerardo Castillo, Jacinto Abel Castillo and Raul Jr. (Roy) Castillo. Paula retired from The Texas State School for the Blind.
Paula is survived by her brothers Victor Serrano, Benny Serrano and Earnest Serrano; sons Rudolph (Rudy) Castillo, Carlos Castillo and Abel Jr. Castillo; daughters Mercedes Gonzales, Louisa Ruiz, Rosa Arroyo; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her most beloved pet a Maltese named Coco.
Serving as pallbearers will be Benny Serrano, Earnest Serrano, Ruben Ruiz Jr., Raul Jr. Castillo, Arthur Gonzales III and Tony Castillo. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeremy Castillo
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Monday May 23, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home 2620 S. Congress, Austin TX 78704. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday May 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
