Paul Simpson went home to the Lord on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Austin, Texas while surrounded by his family. To the loving union of Henry & Mary Bell Simpson, Paul was born in Saylor, Kentucky on October 6, 1926.
Paul is survived by his beautiful wife of 68 years Myrtle Simpson, sisters Beatrice Brock, Etta Brock, Vina Brock and Faye Nolan. His Sons: Roger Simpson, wife Ginny, Doug Simpson, wife Debbie. Grandson Shane Simpson and Great Grand Children Kelsey Simpson and “little” Paul Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Simpson and Mary Bell Simpson, brother, Garland Simpson. Sisters, Juanita Brock and Susie Short.
Paul was in the US Army and was a World War II veteran. When Paul was 18 he asked the love of his life, Myrtle, to be his wife in (1947) and lived to enjoy a 69 year long marriage that was fit for a fairy tale. Paul was a religious man bound by honor in both his personal and professional life. He, and his infamous riddle jokes, has burned into the hearts and memories of the people and family members he has influenced, and will be missed more than words can describe.
Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home located 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78750 on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 2:30 pm. Interment will be at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
