Patrick is preceded in death by his father, Michael Leon Doyle. He is survived by his loving wife, Elena Hernandez Doyle, and children, Alicia Renee Doyle, and Aidan Sean Doyle, all of Georgetown, Texas. Patrick is also survived by his mother, Mary Jo Hopkins, formerly of Leander, Texas, and currently residing in Houston, Texas, and his brother, Michael Sean Doyle of Dickinson, Texas.
Patrick was a fun, laid-back, happy-go-lucky, free spirit who excelled at anything he put his mind to and made it look easy. He was a standout midfielder on the soccer field, beginning at age 5 through his late teens, and played on select competitive teams in San Angelo, Germany, and Austin. When an injury ended his soccer days, Patrick adapted and joined the tech industry. He began by repairing Apple computers, then moved into technical support at Apple and Vanstar. He eventually went down the entrepreneurial path with several ventures, including WebZealots, WZ2Tech, and his recent long-term role at CustomsPoint, Inc. He was a problem solver who was always thinking ahead about where to take the company for success.
Patrick, most importantly, was a devoted and loving husband and father who always put the needs of his family first. We consider ourselves blessed to have been a part of his life. He had a beautiful yet clever smile, a mischievous twinkle in his blue eyes, walked with a purpose, and was always the eternal optimist. Patrick was quick and witty and loved to make everyone laugh. He was friendly, polite, and kind to others and wanted to help if he could. He was a beautiful person who was taken too soon after a surprise battle with cancer. He touched many hearts along his path in life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Texas Oncology, Texas Colorectal Surgeons, and St. David’s Round Rock/Georgetown/North for the treatment and care given to Patrick throughout his brief but determined fight against cancer. We’d also like to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff at Hospice Austin’s Christopher House for the care and attention given to Patrick in his last week. He was able to find a comfort and peace away from the pain as he neared his last day.
Patrick’s ashes will be interred at Remembrance Gardens at Riverbend in a small ceremony for immediate family. A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date at his favorite pub, BD Riley’s, and will be open to those who knew and loved him. In remembrance of Patrick, the family requests donations be made in Patrick’s name to Hospice Austin’s Christopher House or to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
