Patricia Burr Zeigler

Virginia Patricia Mann Burr Zeigler was born October 23, 1930 in New Orleans, LA. She grew up in Westchester County New York graduating from Bellows High School. She then went on to attend Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA graduating with a degree in psychology. While at Mary Baldwin, she sang in their touring glee club. Patti married Samuel Engle Burr on August 23, 1952 which produced 3 children. After parting ways in 1976, Patti went on to meet and fall in love with John Zeigler who she married in 2003. John predeceased her in 2015.

After raising 3 children and taking care of a beautiful home Patti went on to become the executive assistant at the Sid Bass Company. She also worked at the Fuller Petroleum Company and the Howard Walsh Company. She later became the executive assistant to the Headmaster at Fort Worth Country Day School. In the 90’s Patti formed “Patti’s Unique Calligraphy” specializing in poems and invitations.

Patti was a member of: The Fort Worth Garden Club, The Fort Worth Woman’s Club, Farando Dance Club, Fort Worth Dinner Dance Club, St Hilda’s Guild, 50+ year member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Fort Worth Calligraphers Guild, DAR-Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Fort Worth Chapter of the Friendship Force.

Patti’s interests were: Tennis, Gardening, Traveling, Dancing, Bridge, Calligraphy, Scrapbooking and Remodeling Houses.

Patti is survived by her 3 children. Richard Burr (wife Gwennie) of Ambler PA, Charles Burr (wife Debbie) of Fort Worth TX and Katherine Burr Harp (husband Danny) of Austin TX. She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

Patti died on March 9th, 2021 in Austin TX. Per her wishes, if so inclined, please make donations in her memory to the Humane Society of North Texas donate@hsnt.org.
