Patty was born in Taylor, Texas on May 6, 1957, to parents, Sam and Billye Rain. She was welcomed into this world by big sister, Shari, devoted grandparents Connie and Lou Lawson ( for whom she was named), and aunt Mary Lawson. She was a very cute little girl and enjoyed lots of attention.
Patty graduated from Taylor High School and then completed her LVN license at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. We were all very excited because becoming a nurse had been her life dream.
Patty married Ed Thomas in 1980 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they were never far apart. Sadly, she lost Ed to pulmonary disease in 2005.
Patty was a long term devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Cedar Park where she had many friends, most especially Kandis and Andy Hoover, Dave Daniels and Roger and Peggy Hepworth. They provided friendship and fun and constant caregiving to Patty for many years.
Patty was always a dog lover and donated money to a pet organization in Austin, Texas after her death.
