Patricia "Pat" Richardson Smith died on Friday, April 13, 2012, at the age of 88. Born March 22, 1924, in Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Smith moved to Austin in 1942 after marrying Harold W. "Skeet" Smith, Ph.D., an instructor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. and Mrs. Smith lived in Austin where they raised their daughter Teri. The family enjoyed their time spent on Lake Austin and in Rockport.
Mrs. Smith was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of University Christian Church and the Rockport Country Club. In addition, she served as a volunteer at St. David's Hospital.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her loved ones. Her family and friends appreciated her warmth, graciousness, and beauty. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Teri Farmer and her husband Drake Farmer of Austin; grandson, Chris Farmer of Austin; and granddaughter, Shelby Katz and her husband Shoney Katz and their sons, Joshua Ethan Katz and Jonathan Harold Katz of Greenwich, Connecticut.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Smith's dedicated caregivers and the supportive staff of Grace Hospice of Austin.
A memorial service will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church, 6909 W Courtyard Drive, Austin, Texas 78730, (512) 343-7858, on May 19, 2012 at 2:00p.m.
