Norma June Gustafson, age 87, passed away on August 1, 2018, in Round Rock, Texas. Norma June was born on July 1, 1931 in Baytown, Texas to parents Elsie and Hayden Windsor. She graduated from Buda High School in 1948, where she was the salutatorian. After graduating, she attended Nixon Clay Business College in Austin, Texas. She took an administrative job at the Texas Department of Public Safety where she met the love of her life, George. She was married to George Robert Gustafson on July 22, 1950. Norma June was a great woman and a loving mother. She and George had three beautiful daughters together.
Norma June was a caring and social woman who was deeply involved in the Civitan Club, the PTA, the March of Dimes and various Presidential campaigns. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining her family and friends, cooking and football. She was an avid dog lover; and her love and devotion to God were boundless. Her family and friends will always remember her as bubbly, kind, stylish and outgoing person.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Windsor; father, Hayden Windsor; brothers, Eugene and Charles Windsor; and her husband, George Gustafson. Norma June is survived by her daughters Cindy and husband, Billy Schott; Debbie Horton; and Tami and husband, Wayne Bowman; grandchildren Allison Murphy, Megan Searcy, Peyton Skinner, Kristen Falatko and Candace Skinner; great-grandchildren Vivienne Murphy, George Murphy, and Emersyn Falatko. She also leaves behind her beloved canine Candy.
She may have been small in stature, but her heart was bigger than the great state of Texas itself. She will be greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know and love her. A funeral is scheduled for 11:00am on August 25, 2018 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. David Griffin will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Norma June’s life.
