Nicanora was a beautiful, strong, and wise mother who loved unconditionally. She was the last remaining Rodriguez in her family’s generation. She is reunited with her loved ones in Heaven. She was faithful, prayed the rosary daily, and leaned on God’s will throughout her life. She loved listening to music, jigsaw puzzles, playing dominoes, hand-sewing baby Jesus gowns, watching her novellas, western TV shows, basketball, and the Dallas Cowboys. Our mother had a green thumb. She loved flowers and could stick a branch in the ground, and it would grow. She liked traveling and taking day trips. She enjoyed hosting holidays at her house with her family. She cultivated many family traditions, including recitation of the Holy Rosary every Christmas Eve before the nativity scene with the baby Jesus that her mother passed down to her generation. She was truly the heart and soul of our family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her devoted niece, Margaret Cabello Esparza, for her loving and dedicated care of our mother. Also, a thank you to all who cared for our mother at St. David’s Medical Center and Hospice Austin.
