Nelson C. Johnson

He was born on May 30, 1928 to Alvin and Esther Johnson in Hutto, Texas. He moved to Austin in 1946 and also lived in Niederwald, Manchaca, and Austin. Nelson married his wife Betty Olene on July 11, 1952.

Nelson was an active member in the Optimist Clubs of Austin and Central Texas since 1955, past President of South Austin Optimist Club, Life Member, Lieutenant Governor, and Governor of South Central Texas District, and Manchaca Optimist. He was a member of the Building Owners and Managers actively, President of the Austin Association, The Texas State Association and Southwest conference Building Owners and Managers. He work several years at Capital National Bank, Republic Bank South Austin, Travis Bank and Trust and present at Lee-Wayne Sales Promotions.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Olene; brother-in-law, Roy Stoll.

Nelson is survived by his son, Rodney Johnson and Marianne Halm; sister, Eloise Stoll.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue with Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
