Nancy Marie Kern passed away on 12 November 2020 in her home at the age of 89 with her family by her side. She was dearly loved and is survived by her husband, Gerard; and three sons, Dale, David and Douglas. Nancy is also survived by daughter-in-law, Claudia Kern; granddaughters Christina Cicarella (and husband Pasquale), Jessica Kern, Sandra Kern, Erin Garza (and husband Chris), Faith Kern; and six great grandchildren.
She was born to the late Rev. Fred and Nellie Mclaughlin on September 18, 1931, in Queens, New York, and graduated from John Adams High School in 1949. Nancy married Gerard in 1953. Being an Air Force family, they moved around the world together, including 2 years in Japan and 4 years in England, before retiring to Austin in 1971. Nancy was a dedicated wife, nurturing mother and was immensely proud of her family. She leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
A visitation will take place on 18 November 2020, beginning at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home. A celebration of Nancy's life will start at noon and will be immediately followed by interment in Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
